Re: Maddow. Just to clarify a couple key points on Biden's plan

President Biden's Infrastructure Plan:

*- $2.25T is the first part of the plan, the total will be $4T
*- It's over 8 years, not 10
*- It will be able to leverage dollar-for-dollar private investment, bringing the total investment to $8T over 8 years.

Maddow guest's claim:

Perhaps Maddow can now host a guest who studied & did the detailed work on the plan, & can identify line by line where the $$$$ will be spent & the overall cost & investment match will be efficiently put to use over the course of 8 years.

Oh ya, it's PRESIDENT BIDEN.
I pointed out a few of the key issues her viewers would be well served in knowing, in my email to TRMS .

....the dollar for dollar private investment AND the fact that it's spread over only EIGHT years (not ten) we're looking at EIGHT trillion over EIGHT years, way different than the way it's been portrayed. Plus it's only using four trillion of public money.

I guess getting into the actual details of the proposal really helps, and all the fuss was basically over nothing.

He's assembled maybe the best group of people around him than maybe any other President I've seen. They're the ones who do the grunt work, and on the surface it appears they do it enthusiastically.

And yes, he hasn't played golf yet (I don't think he enjoys it)

Slow And Steady Wins The Race

Meaning:
Hastily jumping into an activity, job, or something else can cause problems; sometimes a more consistent approach, even if it is slower, can be ideal and give better results.

Example: I worked out at the gym for the first time in years. However, I think I overdid it because I’m really sore. After I recover, I’ll try starting with lighter exercises next time and gradually build up from there—slow and steady wins the race.

https://knowyourphrase.com/slow-and-steady-wins-the-race

You don't get from the starting line to the finish line in 60 seconds. You have to clear all the hurdles first. It ain't easy and it takes a lot of hard work.

Its ok. President Biden & his brilliant team who knew every law, the economics needed, & what it would take to overhaul an entire infrastructure system from rail, to bridges, pipelines to individual Americans & future generation's to build from is turning out to be applauded by people, small towns, from churches to schools, medical facilities to corporations & even the stock market, ffs.

They have dotted the i's & counted down to the dollars just what such a massive project would take to bring it to reality.

I absolutely Love the praise from every sector of our country, as they welcome President Biden's forward thought & courage it takes to dive in to a project of this size.

His approach is step by step & in the end he has kept his word that he will Build America Back, Only Much Much Better.

America put their trust in this gracious, considerate man & he will not disappoint.

Thank You President Biden & the team you engaged to create this forward momentum.

Back when I was watching her show often, she frequently had a segment where she made corrections.

Does she still do that? I wonder if these inaccurate and misleading statements/figures will be corrected.

I think she should demand better from her guests.

by writing a check. First come commissioned studies (jobs), then decision making, then contracts and hiring with big job creation and actually building the bridge, paying for it as it progresses. That $40M will be spent over years, and that's a good thing.

Eight years of spending on human, environmental, and physical infrastructure means a lot more than just 8 years of good jobs because of all the synergies created. Many jobs will continue on after and give rise to other good jobs as we recreate the infrastructure of general wellbeing and prosperity we once had and let be taken away.

She didn't mention that in her "not nearly good enough" message. Comparing money spent BUILDING for the future to the Rescue legislation as if it were a failure because $2-1/2 trillion isn't spent quickly like stimulus disbursements is deliberately dishonest.

And even her strongest admirers should wonder to what purpose.
