Big boost for Student loan Forgiveness

Inside the COVID relief bill is a provision that makes any student debt relief through 2025 tax free:

The provision, added to the Covid-19 relief bill by Senate Democrats and championed by Sens. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), says that anyone whose student loans are discharged through 2025 won’t face tax consequences.

Until its passage, large scale student debt relief could have had significant tax implications.

As someone that has struggled for years to manage my student loan debt, certain proposals being floated like relief of debt 25 years old or more, would be significant boost to me.
