15. I thought the same when I saw him

There is a huge racial bias with incel communities. They generally believe that white women are more selective but that some ethnicities, particularly Asian women, are less picky and being white is enough. There is also a big debate there about using a prostitute, with some being against it and some seeing it as the only way they "have a chance."

So, if he did think they were prostitutes AND they are Asian...somebody deep in INCEL culture would probably see them a sure things. If it turned out that they really were just giving massages though, it would seem in his mind that he had been rejected by racially inferior prostitutes. That could easily set an already disturbed person off.

That said, I checked into an incel message board that I peek in on from time to time, and those guys were laughing at his dumb beard lol.

I also saw a picture of him from his arrest and he clearly has a prototypical white supremacist haircut. Guy looks like he took a picture of Richard Spencer to the barber and said give me this one. There's plenty of overlap in the groups and he could just be both.

One hallmark of incels doing the "ER" thing is that they kill themselves before being caught. This guy letting himself be taken makes me think he wants to use the trial as a way to push out some kind of message. I'm sure we're going to find out exactly what extremist view he holds.

There are some non-extremist motives that could be at play as well. There have been many serial killers that said things like they believed they were commanded by God to rid the world of prostitutes or whatever. I suppose he could suffer from those types of delusions as well.

17. I know a number of US expat men

who moved to Asia because, and I quote, white women "aren't feminine enough" (i.e. they told my misogynistic ass to take a hike), whereas Asian women "know how to treat a man' (i.e. they let me treat them like a doormat).

I knew lots and lots and lots of Incel men who targeted Chinese women because the one-child policy made them desperate to marry a Westerner no matter what. Most of those relationships were grossly abusive and manipulative. My neighbour used to beat and scream at his Chinese wife all the time. I called the cops on him on at least a weekly basis. Another guy I worked with did absolutely nothing around the house while his wife worked full time and, with her mother, did everything for their three toddlers. When he moved back to the States, his plan was to get her a comfy government job as a translator so that she could support him (and also do all the housework and raise all the kids) while he sat around on his ass playing video games all day. Like he would sit in the office openly bragging to his female coworkers that this was his life plan.

So it's more than "Asian women are less picky". It's "Asian women are subservient and give me the respect I deserve and don't get from white women". It ties in with the whole "make America great again"/"when men were men and women were women" mentality. Conceivably if he didn't feel he was getting the respect he was entitled to even though he was targeting Asian women, it would set him off on a rampage.

For all the reasons you mentioned, there are lots of men who seek out those types of relationships where they can hold all of the power.

I've also seen a lot of sentiment that white women only are attainable by the "chads" and non-chad white men can get ethnic women, but ethnic incels are just screwed. That obviously not true, but I'm only talking about the things they say on these boards.

So, I think there are.absolutely legs to the "He thought he was entitled to Asian women and snapped when they rejected him." theory, but its not the only viable theory either.
