How tight is security around the US Capitol this morning? The day after the insurrection, January 7, I was parked on the other side of this fence. I’ve seen lots of National Guard soldiers carrying assault rifles. And I’ve already been approached 2x by US Capitol cops. More @WTOP

My little soldier arises every morning.

I'm proud of him. But sometimes, he use'ta embarrass me, like when I sat next to Suzzie in 9th grade World History.

World History was boring and once in a while --- actually, most of the time, I'd sneak a look at Suzzie and then... well this was particularly a problem when it was near to the end of the class and we had to stand up to move to the next class.

I was always late for Geometry because I was the last kid to leave the history class.

Never thought for a moment they would be facing years in prison for their bravado, facebook rants and chest pounding about their Day at the Capital. They all felt safe and enabled by Trump, but got used, then thrown under the bus. Now, the message is clear--try this again, you go to jail. No more country club. No more timeshare in Cancun. My guess is very, very few have the actual balls, know-how and resources to coordinate and/or participate in another domestic terrorist act. So while RW extremest groups are a threat, the garden-variety Trumpettes should not be confused with them. Bottom line is, the Capital Insurrection is not a fair gauge of the current threat.
