Tuberville and RAGA Now Directly Implicated in Trump's Coup
A social media post, made the night before the attack on the US Capitol could be the blueprint for deciphering exactly who was involved in aiding and abetting Donald Trump.

On January 5, 2021, the night before the deadly insurrection at the US Capitol Building, an elite meeting supposedly took place at the private residence of the president at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, DC, just blocks away from the White House.
It was all relayed on the social media account of Charles W. Herbster, a wealthy ranch owner from Falls City, Nebraska, who once ran a failed campaign for governor of the state in 2013, and has just filed paperwork to run again in 2022. Herbster, a long-time fixture in midwestern conservative politics, also served as Trumps National Chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Advisory Committee at the time of the post.
Herbster documented the clandestine affair that night in a Facebook post, which was first reported by Seth Abramson, and provided an exact list of attendees, as if he were detailing a twisted version of another American Revolution. Charles Herbster listed a group of insiders that could easily be considered the crème de la crème of Trump collaborators now possibly accomplices:
Right now, I stand in the private residence of the President at Trump International with the following patriots who are joining me in a battle for justice and truth:
U. S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, Alabama; Mr. Donald Trump, Jr.; Mr. Peter Navarro, Assistant to President Donald J. Trump, Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, and the National Defense Production Act Policy Coordinator; Mr. Eric Trump; Mr. Adam Piper, Executive Director Republican Attorney General Association; Mr. David Bossie, President and Chairman of Citizens United and Deputy Campaign Manager of the 2016 Donald J. Trump Presidential Campaign; Mr. Corey Lewandowski, Manager of the 2016 Donald J. Trump Presidential Campaign; and General Michael Flynn, 25th United States National Security Advisor.

On Jan. 5, Doug Peterson, the GOP Atty General of Nebraska, put out robocalls that urged Trump supporters to march to the capitol. So, yeah, RAGA.

Too bad these guilty as fuck turds won't face the same kind of ending...have to hope that the wheels of justice grind them to the dust they should be.

(11,564 posts)It is possible that any of them could claim they attended the meeting without knowing what the specific agenda was. Of course, it will take an awful lot of evidence to support that claim, and a record of said AG(s) leaving early must be available. ie: as soon as the agenda was revealed.
I know, it's an outside chance at best, but maybe not everyone there knew what they had gotten themselves into.

(47,567 posts)I can't believe how stupid these people are. Did Herbster actually think that posts on Facebook were private or that no one would notice? These people who post incriminating things on social media blow my mind. You expect it from a 15 year old kid, but you'd think adults would know better. He even listed the names and titles of the "patriots" who attended the meeting! Nice attention to detail which I'm sure the FBI and congress appreciates.
I suppose what is even more disturbing is that so many of these people advertise their illegal activities, because they honestly think there is nothing wrong with what they did and that there will be no consequences. Their arrogance is surpassed only by their stupidity.
It is terrifying to imagine what would have happened if these people were actually competent.

(43,258 posts)he was certain of its success and that all would be pardoned. That how advanced, and how much, planning had been put into the effort. There must, by this logic, be far more to come.

(47,567 posts)We saw so much of that attitude in DC on the 6th. People not only didn't try to disguise their identity, they advertised who they were and what they were doing on social media. "Hey, my president gave me permission, so I'm okay." If this was a movie, it would be a farce or over-the-top satire.

(47,567 posts)and he undoubtedly conveyed that sense of invulnerability to his sea of followers. "If the president is unafraid of consequences, why should we be?" In their twisted little brains, they want to be able to do and say whatever they want just like their leader, who has pretty told them they can.

(47,567 posts)I am blown away by highly educated people who send compromising photos on their smartphones, sometimes even to total strangers. Careers and marriages have been destroyed by such stupid carelessness. For some, I think it is addictive. Look at all Anthony Weiner threw away because of his compulsive behavior. He got a 2nd and 3rd chance and he still couldn't (wouldn't?) stop.

IMO they all have earned life sentences. Hope they end up prosecuted with extreme prejudice.
Really disgusting how the GOP and much of media is minimizing the actions in the aftermath.

EndlessWire
(6,562 posts)American style. I think a smaller group had plans, and that the call for individuals to show up was just cover for the main group. Most of those thousands of people who rolled out probably thought they were just going to property destruct, raise some hell, and motor on home, laughing all the way. And, then look what happened.
But, you have to have something to hang your hat on. Like Trump's speech to rile them up. Like the "see you in Washington" remark. Like, the memo that held off the Guard. Like, the Trumps watching on TV and enjoying it, doing nothing. Like, Trump threatening the GA SoS with retribution if he didn't cheat.
You have to have evidence that has foundation. This isn't enough. It probably was a war council -- but, prove it. Let's get one of the attendees to roll over, with something leveraged that we can't see.

(6,203 posts)Or even the "Hang Pence" chants. He talks as if what went on was just part of the plan, and how Tuberville needed to continue with the plan to disrupt and delay the vote. I wonder what else was planned that didn't happen when the vote went through in the early morning hours of Thursday, the 7th.
There was obvious evidence of a conspiracy to defraud the election present in Rudi's call. So, the meeting on the 5th becomes the focal point for the FBI to investigate the true size and scope of the conspiracy.
The riot and attack on the Capitol definitely appears to have been planned. It just didn't get the job done. I guess when the Congressmen and Vice-President Pence realized what danger they were in, they got a little bit angry and decided to end all this shit.
Democracy worked despite Trump and his co-conspirators attempts to tear the Republic down.
We can only thank Rudi's bumbling ineptitude for providing the smoking gun.
