(22,497 posts)Last month, Lindell was identified as one of several high-profile figures who helped bail out Kyle Rittenhouse, who is charged with killing two protesters at a Wisconsin political rally over the summer. According to statements made by Rittenhouse's defense attorney Lin Wood, some portion of the $2 million bond was paid for by Lindell, who has not publicly confirmed the action.

Lindell has a long history of controversy and had faced legal actions from various government agencies including the Federal Trade Commission and the New York attorney generals office. The website Dailymail.com reports he has settled more than a dozen lawsuits over the years. Referring to one such suit he had told the Minnesota Star Tribune, We decided to pay out rather than pay millions to prove our innocence.
Lindell has also said publicly he is considering running for office in Minnesota where his company is based.
Protests and those urging a boycott have been around for some time but seem to have become more numerous recently. Pennsylvania attorney Michael Coard, in an opinion piece in the Aug. 31, 2020 issue of The Philadelphia Tribune wrote, Lawful targeted boycotts of pro-Trump businesses must start right now. In other words, stop making racism and fascism profitable. He specifically referenced more than two dozen individual companies, including MyPillow.
