Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDid you hear "zip tie guy's" BS defense?
He was just being a good citizen.
I can imagine the first judge he sees will be glancing upward at the ceiling a few times while he hears this. The guy who swiped the Speaker's podium was probably just "returning" that too.
Brock, who lives in the suburbs of Dallas, told The New Yorker that he traveled to the Capitol to demonstrate peacefully and found the zip ties on the ground.
I wish I had not picked those up, he told The New Yorker. My thought process there was I would pick them up and give them to an officer when I see one... I didnt do that because I had put them in my coat, and I honestly forgot about them.
I know it looks menacing, he went on to say. That was not my intent.

On edit:
Andy Borowitz probably had this story all typed up when the story broke. Now he has to start over.

He's a liar AND a coward.
Decorated veteran? And scared of of Antifa, an organization that wasn't there & doesn't exist.
A liar & a coward.

(10,074 posts)It was reported that some of the terrorists went directly to the storeroom and took the ties, once again supporting the theory/truth that they were being assisted by insiders.

I hope he is charged with terrorism and has at least 40 years to reflect on his decision "to pick them up"

(45,021 posts)Said the guy dressed head to toe in black paramilitary gear with a handgun at his side who just smashed his way into Congress with the terroristic intent to overthrow the United States government. No, not threatening in the least.

These guys. Maybe his wife, if he has one, buys his crap or his boss, if he has one but I do not think the Feds are going to thank him and send him on his way. Or maybe they will, walking from D.C. to Texas is going to keep him busy for a while unless he can hitch a ride.

(12,159 posts)I know for a fact they aren't available at Lowes or Home Depot. They have no use in construction or wire bundling. I imagine that they are from law enforcement supply companies.

(7,278 posts)You can get them cheaply and easily from Amazon and eBay, no doubt other places online, so the purchase might well be trackable. Or he may have a specialist brick-and-mortar store he uses.
They could arguably have other uses, but few of them would be plausible when roaming the Capitol, except perhaps to tie two door handles together to prevent/slow down entry.

(7,733 posts)whos intent was to terrorize and intimidate unarmed men and women and other staff to include very young Americans serving as Pages. Brock is a disgusting pice of crap and should get jailed.
Along with losing his pension, he should be banned from any Federal properties to include VA hospitals and offices. He was going to kidnap and restrain Americans for his filthy cause.
Fuck him!

(3,131 posts)They ought to keep giving interviews to explain why they are innocent. Any lawyer would tell you the best thing to do after being accused of a crime is to get your story out in full detail and publicly.

Both guys are horrible traitors and thus guy is a piece of shit, but it is possible that this guy picked up the first Guy's zip ties.
