The politics of "my way or the highway" have to stop.

We do need to reach across the aisle to set a good example - if for no other reason than because we WILL be in the minority again at some point in the future.

We can ram things down their throats... for the next 2 years... if we really have to. But that's not the way politics should operate long term, a nation see-sawing between radical changes every few years at all cost with no attempt at consensus across party lines.

The majority of voters want some level of bipartisanship, even if it's limited. If we could get one or two GOP Senators (Murkowski, for example) to join the majority on the big-ticket items, it would look way better than a straight-line party vote.

He has already said what he was not going to support. Probably the important people are the few Pug moderates. Manchin is against ending the filibuster, court packing, and Puerto Rico statehood.

If we can get one or two GOP Senators (Murkowski, for example) to join the majority on some of the more important legislative issues, it would look significantly better than a straight-line party vote.

We tend to forgot - perhaps intentionally - that the majority of voters want some level of bipartisanship, even if it's limited.
