The criteria seems to be arbitrary to me even in my own county.

I know someone who died of being old. No symptoms. But the covid test at the hospital came back positive. Covid was listed on the death certificate.

I also know someone who was on the back side of fighting cancer. It was not detectable at that point but she was still recovering from the treatments. She got Covid and died in 4 days. Her death certificate does not mention covid at all. It lists the cancer.

Same hospital, same county, same Coroner.

2. They Count Overall Deaths Per Thousand Compared To Last Year

People are dying from all kinds of other stuff because of Covid.

With the current situation, many hospitals are unable to take more emergency arrivals, meaning when first responders arrive, if the person cannot be revived on-site, they are considered DOA. Those deaths would not be listed as Covid deaths, but in my opinion, they are directly related. My son is a firefighter. They had to do this in the early days in Seattle, not transporting people who otherwise would have been saved (heart attacks, stroke, car accident victims). That was in the early days when it was only Seattle, then later New York. Now it all over the country.

This did not have to happen.
