There was no such instrument as the fiddle in ancient Rome, so while it‘s a popular expression, it‘s not all too accurate historically.

Although they did have the lyre, and Trump lies a lot.....

...when the fire started, Nero was not in Rome. He was at his villa at Antium, on the outskirts of the city. On hearing the news, he rushed back to coordinate emergency relief – he even opened his own gardens as a shelter for homeless Romans.

A while back I watched a documentary on PBS about Nero, and I knew I'd never compare trump to him.

According to historical texts, Nero was pretty good at playing violin.
The tool is a hack (& cheater) at the game of golf!

People who criticized Nero's music, well ...

Love the lyre, or feed the lions.

His form is not exactly classic Ben Hogan, but it's somewhat better than Charles Barkley's.

I know that I suck bigly at golf, maybe a little less sucky at tennis. But either game, I can't see a point in cheating. It's just a game. I have no fore-caddies to find my ball and maybe improve my lie. The best I can hope for is that one of my golf partners saw what general direction my ball went.

I played golf Tuesday, a pretty nice day, temps in the high 30s. The ponds were ice-covered, due to a cold overnight breeze.

12. But, He's The Worst Kind Of Cheater

He's a stroke shaver.
Approach in the water. Drop area, on green, 2 putts, claims a par. Shaved the penalty.
Worse, same scenario, except first putt goes 8 feet by. Picks up and calls it a 2 putt. Shaves the penalty & a probable third putt.
Does it 10-12 times a round. Shoots 95, claims 77.
That's not even good cheating! The other people can count!
I played Wednesday. High 30s as well. Front 9 I was awful. (43). But, was only +1 after 15, then went birdie, par, birdie to finish. (So, 34 on back 9)
Ended up shooting a 77, but from the winter tees, that's "M'eh". But, at least the whole round didn't stink.

Much warmer weather, mid-forties. 43 is better than I've shot all year. Didn't even lose one ball!

That was my day. By the time I've walked nine holes, I've had enough fun, I don't even think about another nine.

I hope to play next week: it looks like there's a warm-up in store.

Occasionally, Trump plays with a top-tier professional. I wonder what they think of the experience. Or do they have to sign an NDA before playing?

Good shooting, professor.

...was 69. Shot 70 once, 71 three times. I did play a LOT of days this year!
My average score was 74.8. 4 above rating, but that makes handicap 3.6.
I can live with that.
