I went to the web site of one of the megachurches here in town last spring just to see if they were going to on-line services like they should. They were, although they made a big point that they had set up a drive-through for contributions, or it could be mailed in.

They have to keep the grift going and the lights on, I suppose.

to contribute to all the charities like I did before retirement - global relief funds, environmental causes, political causes of all sorts, etc. It's depressing because I still get the solicitations in my mail, and those are all good causes and need our help right now.

So, I can guess what a right-winger is going through - with solicitations from Trump, the NRA, the RNC, dozens of wingnut politicians, pro-life orgs, My Pillow, wingnut think tanks, fake veterans causes, etc., but I have absolutely no sympathy for them.

It's a damn shame all their free funds, time and energy are going to the evil side of our world......

And as Trump heads out of the White House, many Black Christians who have long practiced their faith with White evangelicals are less interested in being in those faith spaces. “Some Christians say, ‘It’s not about race, it’s about grace. It’s not about skin, it’s about sin,’” former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho told The Post in August. “It’s hard for Black people to attend predominantly White churches, specifically when White pastors are silent on the issues that matter to Black people.”

I guess evangelicals will now go into persecution mode for four years, a state that allows church leaders with private jets to suck even more assets from the sheep.

It would do my old-fashioned heart lots of good if many of the megachurches have to shut down and the buildings converted into community centers, homeless shelters or healthcare clinics for the poor.
