And in order for martial law to be declared, there would have to be an actual, real life emergency declared. Fat Donny's temper tantrum over the election is not that emergency. Since all 50 states certified, certified again, and voted to cement that certification, I would say there's very little chance of that happening.

Furthermore, do even the most hardcore right wingers not understand what even the most basic rights they would forfeit in order to carry out their paranoid fantasy? You can pretty much kiss the entire Bill Of Rights goodbye. That includes your precious guns and free speech. Hell troops could even stay in your homes if they wanted to.

Plus in order to fully carry out real martial law, you'd have to get all 50 states, both houses of Congress and the Joint Chiefs to approve. With as divided as we are right now, there is zero chance of this happening. Good luck with that, Donny. Just fucking concede already. You lost, get over it.

I think their point is that to enact martial law, too many different groups would have to agree to go along with Trump's plan.

The military has already made it plain to Trump that they won't have anything to do with his plans to be a dictator. There goes his force.

You are correct, of course, that other democracies have fallen to strongmen. But Trump is so inept that I think it's a stretch he could pull it off. He's too stupid to effectively stage a coup to take over the entire U.S. government. It's too large and complicated and even after 4 years, Trump still hasn't learned how it works.

He'll be gone on January 21st.
