Chris Wallace slams Fox News over 'fuss' about Jill Biden: Dr. Martin Luther King wasn't a physician

.

Fox News host Chris Wallace took a shot at his own network on Sunday after conservative pundits suggested that future First Lady Jill Biden does not deserve the title of "doctor."

Wallace made the remarks during an interview with Jen Psaki, an adviser to President-elect Joe Biden.

"There has been some criticism recently from conservatives, including some conservatives on Fox News about the fact that First Lady-to-be Jill Biden goes by the title doctor," the Fox News host told Psaki. "I wonder what is the Biden's reaction to that, especially given the fact that so many people over the years -- I think of Dr. Henry Kissinger, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King -- have gone by the title doctor, even though they're not medical doctors and nobody have seems to have made a fuss about that."

Psaki called the criticism "perplexing."

"With thousands of people dying every day of COVID, millions out of work, that anyone would wake up in the morning and decide that the focus they need to have, the way they can contribute to society that day is to question whether or not Dr. Jill Biden -- someone who is still teaching, who has a Ph.D in education -- should be called doctor or not," Psaki said. "Of course, she should. As anyone who works through that challenging process of getting a Ph.D."

"It's a really silly, sexist and absurd conversation that's happening a bit in society," she added.

You know who else isn't a medical doctor either, but FOX News thinks he is:

Seb Gorka is one of the dumbest motherfuckers in the world, and based on his education, he attended some of the shittiest institutions there are. Normally, someone gets their Doctorate in a different university than their Masters, but this guy is probably so fucking stupid, no other Doctorate program would accept him. And, as a side note, he was almost charged in Hungary for a firearms violation.

Doctor - or Doktor was attached the the title of Learned before the 18th century. Medical people were not universally called doctors until much later - as an attempt to legitimize the profession. I believe to this day surgeons in England are called Mister instead of Doctor. Please correct me if I am wrong. As for the assertion that one may go to two different universities to get both a masters and a doctorate, I did not and neither did my wife. Indeed, we were both asked to continue our studies and awarded stipends to do so. As for dismal fools calling themselves doctor, well what can one do. In re Jill Biden - she graduated with a Doctorate in Education from the University of Delaware (full disclosure - one of my almas mater) so she should be known as Dr. Biden, just as I am as Dr. Skull. I have the diploma to prove it.

and some of those angrily spoke out against the hostile work environment created by Republican congress-men (and a few said they were leaving congress because of it), the GOP's organized conspiracists arranged to run more women candidates for 2020, temporarily reversing running them out of power. So the 117th Republican house caucus will now have 28 GOP congress-women, 8 female senators, and also a few more token minorities.

So Fox really should dial back the male supremacist noise, a more subtle subtheme, until their authoritarian government is actually in place. Rushing to win the war only on the jumped-up, castrating conservative women they can get at now isn't smart tactics.

A picture captioned as follows.

Vice President Dick Cheney, right, joins Dr. Cheney to promote her new children’s book, ‘America: A Patriotic Primer,’ at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, Washington, June 9, 2002.

A passage from the article.

Dr. Cheney’s explanation of her motivations as an historian sometimes evoke today’s political struggles. “The basic ideas and ideals that I hold, as a conservative, haven’t had as important a place in American education as they ought to have,” she explains over the phone from her home in Virginia, where she has been sheltering in place with her husband for most of the pandemic.

And some bonus Fox "News" coverage

HANNITY: While there's a big celebration going on, I think we've got evidence that some of the contentious battles that were waged during the campaign with now coming to the fore. I think we saw some of that yesterday. Did you get a chance to watch any of Condoleezza Rice, Dr. Rice's hearings?

Washington Post referred to Lynne Cheney as Dr.

She is often referred to as Dr. Lynne Cheney during her book tour including a number of conservative sites.

George W. Bush called her Dr. Lynne Cheney

I'm always happy to see your senior fellow, Dr. Lynne Cheney. Lynne is a wise and thoughtful commentator on history and culture and a dear friend to Laura and me. I'm also familiar with the good work of her husband. You may remember him, the former director of my vice presidential search committee. Thank God Dick Cheney said yes.
