Living in rural Tennessee, I can see why our state currently has the most new covid cases per capita in the country. I don't experience the rudeness shown in the cartoon, but I'm definitely in the minority wearing a mask.

simmering trumpists having to shop and unable to speak out in what for them are self-made hostile environments.

Btw, saw @ 40 lost Georgia trumpists demonstrating by a Florida highway yesterday, energetically waving signs and banners for Trump 2020. At least I assume they were lost since it's all over down here. Shoppers parked behind them ignored them, by far most drivers ignored them, a handful honked. I stopped and took pictures for my husband.

For all I know, that lady could be long gone due to covid.

Seriously. That's the only way to think of them. Spiteful, foolish, misbegotten, and neglected children. But it's too late for them to grow up. They'll never do it -- except for the occasional deniers who lose family members to the disease, and not even all of those deniers will learn then, blaming the deaths of their family members on socialism or Soros or demons.

BTW, is Limbaugh dead yet? Is he at least off the air?

From the Chief of Police Freddie Portillo:

"To date, 16 citations have been issued, Portillo said, and while officers have discretion to cite people or not, the department's overall recommendation is zero tolerance for violations."

"The maximum fine for a violation of the town's mask ordinance is $100, but belligerent offenders also risk being cited for resisting, evading or obstructing an officer giving a lawful command, Portillo cautioned. And if a person is asked to leave a business because they refuse to properly wear a mask and they don't leave, they may also be arrested for trespassing."

telling me that his neighbors were having a huge party without masks. This is in a county with NO available ICU beds.

Yesterday on my walk I listened from a safe distance to one of my neighbors ranting about how shutdowns don’t work.

It’s like with guns. If only the idiots could stick to killing each other.

Also about science deniers: An evolution-denying creationist is diagnosed with TB and is uncomfortable with accepting that the tuberculosis bacterium has evolved and requires modern treatment rather than "the Noah's Ark version."

I'm living overseas now and when I got here there was no threat of Covid. I hate wearing a mask and no one else likes them either.
But for public safety concerns we all put our masks on as soon as we leave home, comfortable or not.
