How can I find out when (approx) I'll be able to receive the vaccine?

I've only heard a very general schedule, and those were only guesses. How will we know when we will be able to get a shot? Will someone contact us, or will it be our responsibility to seek it out.

Unless you are a first responder, in a nursing home, or over 70.

I saw a news story that in Oklahoma they hoped to be vaccinating those over age 65 by July.

So it’ll be a long long time.

Most of the cable news shows I've seen today said most who want it should get it near the end of Spring.

It corresponds to a realistic roll-out schedule for 330,000,000 people.

Assuming nothing goes wrong :fingerscrossed: If 30 million people are vaccinated a month it would take 11 months to get to everyone.

The limiting factors to this being how many people are qualified to administer the vaccine and where it is available. Both of those are not fast changing metrics.

A lot depends upon your age, health, etc.

I'm 74 with multiple health issues.
My primary care doctor told me they at some point will get the vaccine into their facility and will contact me as to when I need come in.
My best guess for me is late March.

Late December 2020
If the FDA approves the Moderna vaccine, it could start rolling out as early as December 21. With the first shipments of those two vaccines, Moncef Slaoui, chief advisor to the federal government's Operation Warp Speed, has estimated that 20 million Americans could get a COVID-19 shot before the end of 2020.

January/February 2021
The vaccines will continue to roll out to priority groups, including essential workers, immunocompromised people and the elderly. The process could speed up depending on the approval of more vaccines currently in Phase 3 trials, such as Oxford-AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson.

Spring/early summer 2021
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, has said that average, healthy Americans can expect to get their first doses as early as April and through July.

I'm assuming I'll be in the last 15%.

Pluses and minuses to this situation. There are plenty of guinea pigs ahead of me, but, I'm sure to suffer economic penalties because the rich and arrogant will use my unvaccinated state as a means to discriminate against me. (Story of my life.)
