"The Lincoln Party"

Rick Wilson was on Nicolle Wallace's show with Jason Johnson discussing Steve Schmidt's joining the Democratic Party. They were asking his what his future plans might be. He told them he was a registered Independent in Florida and planned for now to keep working for . . . . The Lincoln Party. He then snickered and said it was a Freudian slip.

Might that have been an intentional tease?

4. Yes I think so. Or it is something they have been discussing at length.

It was not a mistake.

As I posted elsewhere, they are in phase two.

First phase was to defeat the F-Wad.

Second phase is to find a new home, a place which reflects their ideals, and a place to work and pay their bills.

I originally thought that as the GOP ends, LP would form the Lincoln Party.
But it looks like for the time being they are going to be independents or integrate into the Dem Party. Time will tell. I wish them well, and love Steve Schmidt. But I hope they do not pull the Dems too far right.

Or maybe the Lincoln Party is something down the road for them.
They are brilliant, anything is possible. I hope they continue to stay on the side of good and never go back to evil.

I am seriously fascinated by the LP group. I am trying to figure out what they are going to do moving forward. Rick is identifying as Independent, Steve is going Dem.

I assume they will form a consulting company and represent Indies and Dems.

If the GOP ends, the landscape is going to change.

I have been a total political science geek and hard core Dem, since 8 yrs of age when Kennedy ran against Nixon. I have seen a lot, but this is a most exciting time to see the possibility that we may see the end of one party and birth of others.

I have no doubt the Dem party will hold, and expand greatly. It is the party of the people, by the people, and for the people. It will endure.

Who believe in and support Democracy. I have no idea what will happen moving forward but the people threatening violence need to be locked up before they can be allowed to take us all down.

Maybe not of something that is working right now, but of where he'd like to take it in the future.

If anyone has any evidence of a Trojan Horse being planted, I'd certainly re-evaluate my position. That said, guesses, speculation, and vague inferences are simply not evidence.

and find a home and place to work. The LP consists of brilliant strategists, they have to be discussing their future. They cannot work in the GOP again. That is just a simple fact.

If they are true to their words and behavior during the election, I think if they start a new party, the Lincoln Party, it will be moderately conservative, but honorable.

Rich is staying Independent, Steve is going Dem. Fascinating to see how they evolve.

going to need centrist democrats to make it viable. So...maybe joining the democratic party should be looked at with suspicion.
