Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said voting rights activist Stacey Abrams "conned" Georgia election officials, leading to a Democratic presidential win there for the first time in nearly two decades.
Graham took issue with voter signature checks in the state stemming from a consent decree, a legal settlement reached in March that followed a lawsuit by the Georgia Democratic Party which argued minorities had been disproportionately impacted when their ballots were rejected.
The settlement addresses what was seen as a lack of standards in comparing signatures.
President Trump and other allies including Graham insist the agreement prevented election officials from properly checking signatures, resulting in unsubstantiated election fraud that handed President-elect Joe Biden a win in the state.

(10,839 posts)you know she's considered a genuine threat and doing something very right.
The whole brouhaha over signature checks? It means the Republicans were barred from tossing ballots for 'signature irregularities," a time-honored method (along with others) of suppressing the vote, particularly in AA communities.
Graham has also said unless election rules are changed, Republicans will never win another election.
Do tell, Senator Graham. You mean Republican governance or the lack there of doesn't sell itself?
How surprising, I do declare!

(58,785 posts)Sounds like it'd be demoralizing to any Repub leaner capable of being affected. (?) Democrats so far have lead in voter registrations, but Republicans have lead in turnout.
GA also has a lot of black conservatives. Significantly more GA AA voted for Biden than Trump, but not an overwhelming majority, and it seems very possible that even more from all conservative demos will vote to keep the senate in Republican control now that they don't have to kick Trump. If they turn out in big numbers.
Anyone getting fed up, or just turned off?
