Wrote to Gov Inslee for the 5th time!

Since April.

I am in bar/restaurant industry.

What is being done to this industry and it's employees is catastrophic.

Meanwhile, I can go to Goodwill, Home Depot, Ross and any other retailer INDOORS! I don't go. But I can.

Meanwhile, there are millions unaffected by job loss and millions more who sat home and earned $600 more per week (and more then their regular pay on top of stimulus) and bragged about it.

Facing eviction, starvation (food lines sooooo long), and hundreds of applicants for jobs that are available.

Shut it all down! This picking and choosing is meaningless in the face of the virus. Letting some thrive while so many others go down in flames is breaking my mind.

And I am going to say something that you will not like. I have not been in a restaurant to sit and eat since Feb when this all started in WA state. I will not go into a restaurant again until we know that vaccines are working and things are much safer. Yes it sucks big time with what is happening to your business. But there is a big difference between sitting inside for an hour with your mouth exposed at times, sitting close to people or running into home depot for something you need to repair a broken toilet.

I understand why it feels unfair. I get it. Frankly, I don't think it's safe to eat indoors with others. Last night I heard one of the more prominent TV epidemiologists say that if you are over 55 you shouldn't even go in the grocery store and if you must you should wear a shield as well as a mask.

I know you know that what is happening to our medical providers is deadly serious. We need to protect them. It is catastrophic what is happening all over. But we here in WA have been doing so much better than many states.

What I think is disgusting is the McConnell/GOP Senate refusing to get stimulus money into businesses like yours. Many of us need that money to come in directly to us so we can survive.

It sucks what is happening to your industry. It sucks that things are probably not going to go back to normal in the near future. But someone running into Ross for underwear or Home Depot for a toilet plunger is not what is ruining your industry.

Telling me that someone going into a retail establishment is not ruining the industry is like telling me I am a member of DU. The comparison of INDOORS is the biggest factor not blame.

Shut it all down.

Having certain sectors open indoors is allowing one sector to go down in flames, others to survive and others to thrive. That is what breaks my mind. How can it be that way? And anytime you go in for a plumbing piece you are exposing self. People round here are going to open retail because they CAN!

Shut it all down.

Will you be farming your own food? Or do you expect workers to be stocking the supermarket shelves or delivering your groceries?

Will you be walking everywhere this winter? Or will you expect someone to be deliver gas to your service station?

Will you be doing your own home repair? Or will you expect an electrician to show up when there's a problem?

I'm sorry. But there are just somethings more vital and less risky than others.

with your resentments against straw people "earning more" and "bragging about it". no one is living high on the hog off UI and the long-gone stimulus checks.

but you knew that.

restaurants and bars are DIFFERENT than home depot, because people have to unmask to ingest liquids and solids, and they also talk and laugh and cheer. no one's spraying Covid in anyone else's nose when they're buying drywall compound.

but you knew that.

I don't think Inslee will write you back.

but you knew that.

Not blaming. Feeling the full effects and calling out the fact that other indoor establishments are open. Also. Stand in a food line lately? Doubt it.

Shut it all down.

while wearing a mask.
I'm not unsympathetic to your plight, but neither am I aware of any way to eat or drink while masked.
