Apparently, Texas has filed a suit against GA, MI, PA, and WI at the Supreme Court

alleging that those states violated the Constitution because, allegedly, those states made changes to voting regulations through courts rather than through the state legislatures, and because differences in voting rules in different counties violated, allegedly, the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause.

Funny thing... I can't find reference to the suit except on right wing sites, although I'm pretty sure it was actually filed.

Plus, what direct injury has Texas suffered? This, if real, will go nowhere. Texas doesn’t get a say in how other states run their elections.

It looks like we have a new leader in the “craziest lawsuit filed to purportedly challenge the election” category:

This is 100% about @KenPaxtonTX
seeking a pardon from Donald Trump. It’s classic Quid pro quo. Paxton is currently being investigated by the FBI for corruption and even @JohnCornyn
has suggested he should resign.

I don't even see a conservative court using this to overturn the election, Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch seem to have enough political awareness of the repercussions of they do that.

I do see this as an opportunity for a conservative court to neuter the ability to make any changes whatsoever to electoral process outside of a state legislature (which happens to be the easiest part of state government for republicans to control).

but its clear what America is facing in 2022 and beyond without drastic measures now which is impossible without a democratic Senate. The fate of our democracy is now up in the air going forward.

I've always thought I could not be surprised by these Trumpers, but there's always one more outrage, one more scam to churn things up.

The other day Laura Trump (the daughter-in-law who wants to run for a senate seat in NC) came right out and said that Donald's beseeching of Brian Kemp to help him with the election results in GA was perfectly understandable.

Trump was merely expecting Kemp to return favors the WH had done for the Governor in the past, she said.

Which, of course, raises the question: what favors might they be??? What past favors would rise to the level of throwing a presidential election?

Gotta give these people their due; they publicly blurt out their own criminality without batting an eye. Or a fake eyelash in this case.

Peggysue, still amazed after all these long dark years!
