2020 cycle: GOP managed to erase the murder of George Floyd and replace it with Antifa "violence"

the ultimate act of turning your opponent's strength into a weakness

Immediately after his death --- the mood of the country was moving en masse against systemic racism. Even Mississippi changed its flag!

Then trump and the police turned violent on marchers, gassing them, beating them, driving police cars into them, and turned THAT into a massive PR victory for THEM that we were the violent ones.

They turned our calls for ending police violence into a massive PR victory for THEM that we were calling for violent anarchy.

They sent the Feds to Portland to provoke resistance that they could film for endless Facebook ads.

We need to realize they have crushed and destroyed our brand, that this is IMPORTANT, and that we need to fix our brand. NOT because we are wrong!!!! We are morally right. But because we have been slimed and slandered, and we need to address that problem.

We were always "the violent ones" to their partisans. They lost big time, anyway. Hortensis Dec 2020 #2

Portland had months of rioting this summer. For some it all made sense but apparently jalan48 Dec 2020 #4

I know many republicans, the #1 issue for them was the rioting and the "Defund the Police" movement. it literally kept them up at night.

Peaceful marches for social justice in over 700 cities and communities were approved by over 3/4 of Americans.

Coverage of far lesser degrees of unfortunate violence didn't erase that. The 3/4 non-crazies are capable of approving of one and disapproving of the other, and, importantly, differentiating between the two.

And the rest are still what they always were.

didn't help much when it came to the elections. I predict another incident(s) somewhere in the country in the summer of 2024 which will cause more rioting and looting which will appear nightly on the major media outlets.
