a beautiful end to the third circuit docket sheet -- the Trump campaign will have to pay Pennsylvania's costs for the appeal
just to clarify--this is appellate court costs, not attorneys' fees. In the US, each party usually pays its own attorneys. Still, absent some unforeseen intervention by SCOTUS, I strongly suspect the district court will order the campaign to pay the other parties' fees too.

Why Bidens Big Popular Vote Win Didnt Help Down-Ballot
November 27, 2020 at 1:31 pm EST By Taegan Goddard 77 Comments
Ron Brownstein: While Bill Clinton twice won about 1,500 counties (roughly half the counties in America), Hillary Clinton carried just less than 500 (roughly one-sixth). Though Biden won the popular vote by at least 3 million more votes than she did, he only slightly expanded her geographic reach: So far, hes carried 509 counties, based on the latest count from the Brookings Institutions Metropolitan Policy Program.
Greg Sargent: Why did Democrats bleed House seats? A top analyst offers surprising answers.

A federal appeals court on Friday handed another loss to the Trump campaigns effort to undo President-elect Joe Bidens win in Pennsylvania, with a judge one of Trumps nominees writing that the campaigns claims have no merit,' BuzzFeed News reports.
In a 3-0 decision, the US Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit rejected the campaigns effort to get a do-over of its lawsuit challenging the election results in Pennsylvania, which a lower court had already tossed out last week.
Axios: Its another devastating blow to President Trumps sinking efforts to overturn the results of the election.
Rick Hasen: This is an utter repudiation of the Trump campaigns ridiculous lawsuit by three Republican-appointed judges.
It shows the absurdity of the litigation: besides the fact that the case was poorly lawyered Rudy Giulianis oral argument was the worst I have heard in 25 years of following election law cases.

(34,126 posts)The order is for costs, not costs plus attorney fees. A few thousand, at most.
(ETA: I have not tracked down the entire order, but the docket summary doesn't address attorney fees.)

(34,126 posts)And are generally an after-the-fact thing, by later motion. One of the orders specifically invited the winning defendants to move for attorney fees. It may even be the lower court version of this decision. So it may still be coming. But a big celebration over karma is premature.

(1,040 posts)behind all the others he's stiffed over the years. Then again, I wouldn't want to owe a Court ANYTHING, so maybe it'll get paid.

Other states - take note! Make Chump pay up front, or you'll never get reimbursed for anything.

If I were a city, and he announced he was coming, I would park construction vehicles on all the runways fifteen minutes before his arrivals.........Maybe that is one of the reasons why he picks Republican cities?????????

(10,953 posts)don't work on getting liens filed against his various properties for the amounts owed to them. It would be difficult for Trump to sell anything if his properties end up with stacks and stacks of liens against the assets.

(11,578 posts)....or, perhaps, consistency. The campaign had none, either. And the "poor lawyering???" Good God. I doubt that any English-speaking person could have done a worse job.
A pity the case had to be heard in PA. If it could have been heard in OR, a Klingon-speaking person might have done better.

"Each of these defects is fatal,"
Zero ambiguity in that statement.
Out of 38 or 40 lawsuits only one actually got a favorable ruling if I understand correctly. It was two but one got reversed I believe. It is clear that once DT realized he was not going to win by getting a majority of votes that he was going to have to go the legal route in order to get a second term. DTs plan/expectation was that judges would just automatically rule in his favor out of loyalty to him. No real evidence or proof of fraud was going to be needed. Just get a case any kind of case in front of a judge from the Circuit Courts to Appellate Courts all the way up to the Supreme Court and they would rule in his favor.
That he really thought judges would just set aside or throw out altogether precedent, settled law or just basic minimum requirements needed to make a favorable ruling that could stand up in the light of day shows just how delusional he is. Thinking judges would toss any character or judicial credibility they had and make a ruling favoring him as a return favor for the favor (in his mind) that he did for them by putting them on the bench is astonishing but not surprising when looking at it through the lens of what he did when Rep. Dingell died. He was amazed Rep. Dingells wife bad mouthed him after he was gracious enough to grant Rep. Dingell a funeral with Military Honors.
Really looking forward to the new year.
