Tue Oct 2, 2012, 12:32 PM
Oct 2012
In 1987, Elway was selected to start in the American Football Conference's (AFC) Pro Bowl team and won the NFL Most Valuable Player Award. He went on to once again lead the Broncos to a victory over the Browns in the AFC title game, earning their second consecutive Super Bowl appearance, this one against the Washington Redskins. The game started out very well for Denver, and they built up a 10–0 lead by the end of the first quarter. At the time, no team had ever overcome a 10–0 deficit in the Super Bowl. But in the second quarter, the Redskins suddenly stormed back with a record 35 points, and ended up winning Super Bowl XXII 42–10.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Elway

I remember how the media went all oogly-googly over Elway, especially the sports commentators. All we heard was running up to the game was "Elway! Elway! Elway!"

But guess what? Elway lost! And he was defeated by a team with *gasp* a black quarterback!

Doug Williams was the first African-American quarterback ever to start in a NFL league championship game, let alone a Super Bowl

His son held a big fund raiser for Rmoney last week, and I know the Trumpster is a big friend of Robert Kraft. On the other hand I think Jon Bon Jovi is as well and he is a big Obama supporter.

Mitt Romney expected to bring in $7.5m during Boston area fundraisers on Friday

WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign is expected to bring in $7.5 million during fundraisers Friday night in the Boston area, making it the biggest Massachusetts fundraisers he’s had and providing him with fresh funds at a key moment in the race.

Romney is appearing with his running mate, Paul Ryan, at a reception at the Chestnut Hill home of former Reebok CEO Paul Fireman, followed by a $75,000-a-plate dinner at the home of New England Patriots President Jonathan Kraft.

Definitely not a Teabagger. You must have read that on World Net Daily or some other source with no credibility.

If anything his donations have sided slightly more with the Democratic party, particularly the DNC congressional campaign committees. But it's not unusual for owners of large businesses to donate to both sides to cover their asses.

He was also universally praised by the player's union after the NFL lockout last year for his work in finding a resolution.

Not sure about his son's politics, but RK is a solid, well respected citizen.

Whether you like it or not, Rog and Bobby are best buds. Every time a beer bottle opens at Patriot Place, Rog is up there cutting a ribbon for it. Bob, Jerrah and J Arthur Crank run the fucking league and Goodell is their puppet. So the fuck what if he helped end the lockout? I'm sure it wasn't some magnanimous gesture on his part. He blubbered on that it had something something to do with his wife passing away or whatever....now that his old ass is mounting some 30 year old trophy wannabe actress I guess he's over it.....

As far as Rog fining them and taking a pick and being sore about it, what, was he supposed to just ignore it? Cheatriots fans should thank their lucky stars that whole thing was swept under the rug and they weren't named, say....the New Orleans Saints.

Anyway, Jonathan Kraft hosted Rmoney's recent fundraiser in Boston....so the fuck you stands. Typical 1%ers hedging their fucking bets. Fuck every owner in pro sports for that matter, except Mark Cuban.

I'm just waiting for his most recent idiocy, Peyton Manning, to be sacked, reinjure his neck and go on the disabled list. And that's only if Manning is lucky and doesn't wind up paralyzed.
