(66,328 posts)Where I live, I see these huge, aircraft-carrier-sized quad-cab pickup trucks with expensive after-market additions, no sign of any work equipment in the bed, and not a scratch on them.
These are obviously not working-class types who need the cargo space for work duties.
They all drive like jerks, and would probably throw a screaming hissy fit if their expensive paint-jobs got scratched...

(100,068 posts)They all drive giant trucks (and the F-150 seems to be their vehicle of choice due to living in close proximity of a Ford dealership), and a lot of them have corporate logos as decals. I'm suspecting so they can have a write-off of their personal vehicle as a company expense so they can avoid paying taxes on said vehicle.

(100,068 posts)My Subaru can not only outrun giant trucks that are two - three times its' size, but I can easily maneuver around traffic and my all wheel drive can go on just about any terrain. I'm also not afraid to get it dirty either.

(100,068 posts)It's built on the same drive train as the 2020 Outback and it handles like a sports car does. Plus it has a really killer sound system as well. I also like the big screen for navigation and control purposes.

(7,349 posts)She wanted an SUV for visibility, shes short, like me!
The all wheel drive is a must during the winters here in WI.
Sound systems in Subarus and Toyotas are by far superior to any American made vehicle imo...

(100,068 posts)And it sounds great. I previously had Nissans and the sound system was Bose, but it wasn't nearly as good as this.

Lived in LA for a couple years and it was always cool to see (or hear) other drivers on the 101 jamming with you to the same tune from a local for the drive home radio station.
Yes, indeed

(100,068 posts)Right now my favorite thing to do is go for a long drive and blast some good tunes. I miss live music but at least we have that right now!

(7,349 posts)Waaaaaay back in February which seems like 10 years ago.
To avoid all the teevee noise I listen to my playlists on my earbuds. Helps me cope...

(100,068 posts)And I still can't believe that event happened. Especially since it was right next door to the NCAA tournament which did get canceled.

(7,349 posts)We saw The Lumineers and it was the last event held at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. We were locked down a few days later. We also had plans in the works to see Joe Bonamassa at Red Rocks. Of course that was cancelled.

(100,068 posts)And it's their semi-annual 311 Day festival, it was my second time out there. It was so weird standing in the middle of the Park MGM hotel watching news of literally everything getting canceled. Yet my event still went on.

(10,624 posts)But I'm a pretty shitty driver. And don't even think about asking me to tow something. I'll do it, but I probably shouldn't.

(12,265 posts)Our pickups looked like crap because they were used as trucks. Of course my family are democrats except for my brother who went to the military and came back conservative.
