I think the extremists in the Senate have pissed off their own voters with this forced appointment.
And they put off helping their own voters to do so - by avoiding passing a stimulus payment package. I wont be surprised to see them pass something small before election day, but I don't think it be helpful to them...they have already done the damage.
I don't think that we are the only ones motivated to act now ...

(23,387 posts)If it were overturned, I do not think that it would turn out well for the right. It would sort of be "shit or get off the pot." Back in the early 90s before Clinton was elected president, I think that some Republicans were reinventing themselves as pro-choice due to a similar dynamic where it seemed much more real that abortion could be criminalized.
