... are in despair to the point that I’m a little worried about them. We also have some who are incredibly overly confident and naive - to the point that I wonder if they have been paying attention for the last 4-5 years.
I keep seeing posts about how Тяцмр is a moron, and his campaign is incompetent and failing. Maybe. But I have come to believe that Тяцмр is not really an idiot. He just doesn’t care about most things we expect a president to care about. His complete lack of interest comes across as a lack of knowledge. He likely cannot name the three branches of government - but not because he’s genuinely dumb. Because he doesn’t give a shit about that. He is singularly focused on himself to the exclusion of all else. But that alone doesn’t make him stupid.
The one thing he does seem to have some skill for is showmanship and driving the low IQ masses to offer their support to him. That’s useful to the people who are really running the show. Not the sycophants he’s appointed and surrounded himself with. I’m taking about the people who are behind the scenes, people we only kind of know about. People who like that we only kind of know about them. The people the Republicans REALLY work for.
They are reading the same polls we are. They have a plan. We may or may not know about it yet. It may or may not have been predicted by the media and/or the democratic strategists working our side. It could be a combination of several different attacks on the outcome of the election. It may be legal, or it may be completely against the law. It could be simple, or it might be highly complicated.
But don’t underestimate them. THEY have a plan to keep Тяцмр in office - or more accurately, to keep Biden/Harris OUT of office (and Democrats from taking control of the Senate). We will see it soon enough.
I’m amazed at the people who think the other side is just going to roll over and walk away because of an election. Just as I’m amused by the people who project nothing but doom and gloom and the “we can’t win it - he’s going to steal it” mantra.
It’s going to take work. Hard work. GOTV to the point where it’s overwhelming. Be ready to fight in the courts - of law and of public opinion. We CAN win the government back. But not just because of an election. That’s just the beginning. It’s going to be a long road. We shouldn’t give up. But neither should we just assume it’s going to be fine and the election cannot be stolen because - what? Because it’s never happened in the US before? That’s unicorns and Sasquatch territory there.
