I was watching "537 Votes" (HBO) about the 2000 election, and I was reminded of the Elian Gonzalez nonsense at the start of it. I had almost totally forgot about that over-blown story. So many people can get riled up about almost nothing, and the media is there to fan the flames. It was apparently right-wing Cuban-Americans on Miami radio stations who got it started.

11. The cost of Obama's Secret Service protection.

My RW brother was bitching and moaning several years ago about the cost to taxpayers of Obama's Secret Service protection. I thought that the fact that he couldn't come up with anything more scandalous than that about the Obamas showed how remarkably scandal-free the Obama administration was. And how irrational the Obama haters were and still are.
