We Need Some Public Service Announcements To Show People How To Correctly Wear A Mask.....

Just watching film clips on the newscasts here in the Chicago Area over the last couple of weeks and have been noticing people not correctly wearing their masks.

The most common mistake is that they don't keep their nose covered and only cover their mouth.

The other thing I see are people that don't have the mask secured tight enough around their ears and as they talk - the mask slips down under their nose and sometimes even exposes the top of their mouth. Maybe people need to learn how to make the mask tighter around their ears and face.

Another common problem is that the mask doesn't anchor around their chin and as a result when they talk it creeps up and exposes the bottom lip of their mouth.

So it's not like people don't wear masks - it's just that they need some coaching to wear the mask correctly so that it affords the right amount of protection.

It would be good if some of the news and talk shows would do a few mask coaching videos to instruct people how to correctly wear a mask.

Not just how to wear a mask, but whether to wear a mask, and why.

The Covidiots are going to continue to scream about their freedumbs. There needs to be a huge national PR campaign to marginalize that point of view and create an inevitability about the expectation that masks are something we wear for the common good. Something patriotic that will bring us real freedom in a few months.

when DeWine was waging just such a PR campaign, INSTEAD of making masks mandatory, right?

Our rate of infection only went down when he finally gave up and required masks.

PR, be kind to your fellow human beings doesn't work with these folks.

N95 masks have those and are super tight. I have a small head and mine are tight on me, but that is one of the things that makes them good. You shouldn't be able to fit a finger in between your skin and mask. Those bandanas and gaiter masks are terrible but better than nothing.

I usually say something like, "Please pull your mask up over your nose because the air you breathe through your nose goes to your lungs and I don't want you to get sick." We have to be very nice about it. They'll usually roll their eyes then comply, although I'm pretty sure most of the time they pull it back down when I'm out of sight.

republicans during trump's time in office, I've come to realize that half the country is really really ignorant of basic things. How did so many people get "left behind" when it came to learning general STUFF?

... and my version takes away some of that need to readjust all the time. It goes over your head, not the ears, ties behind your neck, and is easily adjustable so that it's as tight as you want, yet still let's you breathe.

are doing proper mask wearing commercials in our state. I like it that they call out the dipshits who wear the mask below their nose like they have no clue that air from their nose goes into their lungs too.

They also emphasize that MY mask protects YOU and YOUR mask protects ME. If you're not wearing a mask, I'm still at risk even if I'm wearing one (unless it's N95).

I'm not sure it does anything to get through to the maskholes.

Grabbed it right in front of his mouth and pulled it down for a bit, then back up. Down up, down up, down up. And when it was down, he would use that same hand to touch his mouth or nose. I wanted to tell him that mask wasn't doing him a bit of good with all that activity, but I just kept my distance.
