(1,235 posts)lines in Georgia and record turnouts all over the country arent made up. Trump lied about a virus that killed 218,000 people and 30M are unemployed and on the verge of eviction. You dont stand on line in the middle of a pandemic for 2-12 hours to vote for more of that.
Plus, record numbers of Democrats have already voted by mail

(12,649 posts)Like most guys of a certain age and skin color, he was always privileged enough to never have to really depend on labor laws to actually protect him from workplace harassment and the typically poor pop-management style that was prevelent in the 80's and 90's. Workplace safety and EEO regulations never impacted him personally other than as an irritation.
So he was always free to be a selfish, clever asshole at work so long as he did his job. He was "that guy", the one whose jokes you always laugh at but you never wanted to ask for workplace or personal advice.

(48,974 posts)I'm looking forward to the day when Trump's gone and out of the news long enough that search engines don't assume that the most likely search I'm starting to request with the letter T will be
trump twitter
which it almost invariably is now. Quick check to see what idiocy he's posted since I last checked, then searching Twitter for the top tweets about Trump and Biden, and then, if there's time, searches for other names and keywords.

(48,974 posts)Sometimes they're very recent tweets, a couple minutes old, without a lot of likes and retweets yet.
I just find them worth skimming, not just for the commentary but for links to news or other tweets.

(2,018 posts)Theres literally nothing new. I think he started going down the path of mental and cartooning incompetence when he got so successful he quit his day job, where most of his material came from. He had to ask his fans to send him workplace horror stories so he could have some material.
Vogon_Glory
(9,117 posts)I suspect that a tidal wave of fired-up, fed-up voters will hand him a jolly surprise when the ballots are counted.
And we will have the last laugh.

(1,990 posts)Before I became biased (knowing that Adams was a right winger) I would read the cartoons at work (Engineering Department) and get the intent of the cartoon but I always found them boring. The people who loved Dilbert were typically engineers who lived their lives for the company and didn't have much of a family life or any life outside of work for that matter. I am more of a Far Side guy.

(3,022 posts)it may or not be funny to you that Dilbert got his pointy haired boss to try to chase down an escaped Token Ring with an Ethernet, but I'm still laughing 25 or so years later. That said, the comic hasn't been funny for 15 years and Adams has shown himself to be an elitist, authoritarian, jerk.

(21,563 posts)I'm sure some people do that but there is broad consensus across polling from many different firms and pollsters understand and account for the fact that some people will lie in their margins of error. In short... they are smarter than drumpf voters.

(65,010 posts)It would require a gigantic, coordinated plan to get a specific number of poll respondents to lie across all pollsters, with absolutely no evidence trail, in the age of social media. And, nobody drops a dime on the effort.
Millions keeping a secret absolutely? Don't see how that works.

(42,770 posts)he's the Messiah. He knows he just has to say the word. Like when he told his followers to vote by mail and in person. Some will do that. They may be uncovered without party affiliation data and trump will claim it was rampant.

(3,583 posts)Trump's polling numbers have been stuck at 42 percent forever. That's a clear minority.
Have Trump supporters been lying to pollsters for four years? A coordinated effort, all this time, to make him look like the least popular president of this era. Just so they can come out as true supporters on election day and -- voila, Trump has been hugely popular all this time?
The Trump supporters I know aren't smart enough to do that.
