The GOP's newest Bullshit:

“Democratic” states like New York, Massachusetts, and California have too much power and influence. The republicans are grievance mongering to make people who live in places like Kentucky and South Carolina feel put upon and taken advantage of.

All they know how to do is divide.

Start adding in horses as part of the population of Kentucky?

It’s sorry for two things:
One is Their beloved “Moscow Mitch”.
Secondly, their population is getting smaller
Because the state only has 8 electoral votes!

The tax dollars raised from those "Blue" states pays for the tax shortfall in the red states. The "Red" states are the welfare queens of the nation.

Federal assistance to states has come into the spotlight recently during the coronavirus pandemic, where some states have received far more money per case than others. For example, in the initial $150 billion given to states from the stimulus package, which was allocated by population, New York got less than $24,000 per positive case while Alaska received over $3.3 million. While the government has shelled out around $750 billion total to states during this crisis, it faces questions about whether the distribution has been truly equitable and efficient.

For years, Americans have looked at federal assistance programs with growing scrutiny, and under the current administration, the number of people dependent on government assistance was decreasing prior to the coronavirus crisis. Regardless of overall trends, though, it is clear that some states receive a far higher return on their federal income-tax contributions than others.

In order to find out exactly how big the difference in federal dependence is from state to state, WalletHub compared the 50 states in terms of three key metrics. Read on for our findings, commentary from a panel of experts, and a detailed explanation of our methodology.

The stats on how much money each state spends and receives in federal taxes is available to provide some evidence that that is not at all true.

The red states tend to get a free ride overall. The power and influence that the GOP has on those states is the real problem since the deficit may reflect their governing itself.

I vaguely recall a Republican talking point about how this was the founding fathers applying lessons learned regarding how Paris was running the whole country of France. There's something to it, but I can't seem to find clear information on the subject.

...will resemble Greenland during the Viking era.
I suspect they won't like it.
Here in Illinois, there are only 2 states who have a lower citizen dependency on the Federal Government and only 9 states with state governments less dependent on the fed government.
As would be expected, according to this, 13 of the top 17 states in federal dependency are red.

should wield the same political power as California, which is nearly 40 times as large, but only as long as it works in their favor. To Republicans, the rules, like the truth, honor and justice are flexible as their needs and desires change.

It’s that the smaller states like Idaho, Wyoming, the Dakota’s, Utah, etc. have an outsized presence in the Senate. It’s why we have rule by the minority!

And that never ends well.
