There was a horrific rape of five siblings in Jamaica

- three young adult women, two teenagers and an eight year old - they lived with their dad but he was not at home when it happened..
The eight year old needed emergency surgery. The criminals were caught by people in the community and there is a gross photo circulating across Jamaica of the one who raped the child - a headless corpse.

I hate rape and I would have thrown them all in prison for life but jungle justice eventually destroys the rule of law.

What do you folks think. I won't post the photo but the curious can view it on FB or several other places.
I don't know which was worse - the anger we all felt after the rape of the women and children or that headless body.

I have to agree that there is a very fine line between savagery and civilization. The laws that we have adopted are there as much to preserve that thin barrier as they are to protect the innocent and mete out justice to the guilty.

Is the justice system in Jamaica sufficient to deal with this sort of crime, malaise, or is there some sense amongst the citizens that it is so impotent that they need to take justice into their own hands?

The photo of the alleged other rapist's headless body in not in the mainstream press and they haven't reported it so I'll check their reports in the morning.

It brings out a rage in others that reason and rule of law can't always contain. It's not as if these civilians had a sit down and decided on murder, it just happened.

I have not a doubt in my mind that I could kill someone who harmed my child. In the spur of the moment I would do it without hesitation.

I wouldn't have taken the law into my hands but I don't live there and I don't know how their system of justice plays out.
