It looks like they're arresting one guy, not shutting down a church.

but a lot of the kids I've met are really nice. I worked many blood drives at New St. Andrews college that the church runs. If the camera was turned around you'd see the school right there.

Do not be surprised if they have a major breakout there. Old building, small classrooms, small community area and conference room and a small library. One of the worst places you could imagine to be going around without masks. That has a lot to do with the Moscow PD making the arrests.

I know some people up there in town still. I'll have to ask. I bet it's a matter of one jackass trying to stir things up.

When they first started growing up there and established the school, they caught holy hell for bringing in some white supremacist speaker that had actually written positively about slavery. It took a long time for that to die down. That was in the late 80's I think. I imagine some of the school people are not too happy he did that.

There doesn't seem to have been much a shitstorm over the arrest. That's a liberal bastion in the state. It's where the University of Idaho is, and only about 8 miles from Pullman, WA and Washington State University.

the American Humanist Association for 30+ years. Each organization is entirely for separation of church and state and far more progressive than mere Democrats.

And I have NEVER seen a mission statement or a goal to close any and/or all churches. We just want to coexist.

Come to think of it, I don't recall even Satanists wanting to close churches.

Trump is pulling this stuff out of his ass as it can't come from his head.

never wanted a deal, leaving out the fact that it was trump who called off active talks, not Pelosi

Pelosi doesn't want a half-assed bill that leaves out the states or cities that have been devastated by the trump virus, and the republican talking points leaving out important details, is the same as LYING

They were (three individuals arrested; five citations) for making a public scene to defy the mandatory mask order; one which the police chief says has 90% compliance among residents in Moscow, Idaho.

However no; not these folks. The public health orders do not apply to them; and their religious liberty as a scapegoat to flaunt these orders; attempting to martyr themselves.

GFYS.

Nobody is stating that you cannot peaceably assemble to sing psalms and worship. Nobody.

What they are mandating is that they use their fucking heads to prevent the transmission of COVID that is seeing a resurgence in the Midwest and largely among large gatherings; which if they paid attention; is rampant among faith based organizations.

Wear a fucking mask and shake snakes above your heads for all I fucking care; however you’re NOT being persecuted for worshiping in public!

We meet Sunday mornings by Zoom conference, have other meetings during the week, members check in with each other throughout the week. We've had people attend services from California, Indiana, Germany, and Norway, to name a few places. Offerings are up, and we're able to sponsor two volunteers to work at the local neighbors-helping-neighbors agency where food and clothing is distributed, and people are given referrals for community assistance.

I don't think the President knows what he's talking about.
