(3,282 posts)doesn't get any say on what the President does or doesn't do. That's just TV fiction. The President is the boss and they are expected to protect him in whatever choice he makes. They might make suggestions, but the call is the President's.
So, if he tells them to put him in a less secure vehicle and have a slow parade a few feet away from a bunch of white supremacists staging a rally infront of his hospital, which he potentially spread COVID to all of them.....well they have to do it.
Let this be a reminder that when he was in Paris and claimed the Secret Service told him that he couldn't drive to the cemetery in the rain...he was lying.
