No matter what happens, the media coverage of him not paying taxes for at least a decade as well as his debate debacle is over. His trip to Walter Reed has resulted in a new and heightened news cycle which has left his taxes and debate in the long ago and far away.
Distraction, whether deliberate or not, has worked in his favor.

7. Not if you are looking at the polls

Biden is up in polls taken since the homunculus announced he was positive for COVID.
You're right that it's changed the narrative, but not for the better by any stretch of the imagination. It has brought total focus to the one thing he really wanted to distract from; his inept and criminally negligent response to the virus. Now, after months of trying to downplay it, he has it. And it's knocked him flat. He looks weak.
And as an added bonus, no one is taking the news from the White House of the doctors at face value. The sheer volume of lies over the last 4 years has made it so NO ONE believes the first thing that is released.

...and it solidifies in their minds this close to the election.

This hospital visit not only confirms what Trump has spent months denying, it validates his opponent who has been campaigning on his failure to confront the crisis and take it seriously. Now the virus has moved from the White House into his body, he, himself a visible example of his negligence and failure.

That's reflected in the polling today which shows that not only did he NOT get the spike in approval that ANY president would get in this circumstance, the public blames him for his illness.
