I saw on another thread about this that they did "both sides" for the debate.

I'll never forget what Jim Carrey did to Adam Schiff that one time many moons ago.

The audience loved it too. I was skeptical but felt like he did a credible job first time out.

I don't think he should've smiled during the skit though. It reminded me too much of Fire Marshall Bill.

I didn't like Jim Carrey or Woody Harrelson as Biden. Carrey was too distracting. He couldn't slide into the Biden character. He kept looking like previous characters he'd been, instead of taking on a new character, which is important when you're trying to portray a real person. Even in comedy...

The mute button was funny and things picked up when Maya Rudolph joined in, but otherwise- meh. The bit had very little to do with Biden or what actually happened at the debate and was mostly Carrey mugging for the camera--and I say that as someone who usually likes Jim Carrey.

Maybe he'll improve over time.

It wasn’t very good. Carey has the voice down, but the look and mannerisms didn’t fit. The writing was stupefyingly inaccurate to capturing the essence of the debate. It felt low and lazy.

Even Rudolph seemed off. What point were they trying to make with Harris there? It didn’t fit in with anything they had in the primary debate sketches. She came in as stern and scolding instead of fun and kick ass.

I was underwhelmed.

But hey, Trade Daddy was back!

The script was what was awful. I loved Woody, too. But, even he couldn't have made that mess funny.
