About Empathy for Donald Trump?...an example from history & some additional thoughts.

Last edited Sat Oct 3, 2020, 01:23 AM - Edit history (1)

...When the Allies entered Berlin during World War II, was there empathy for the Germans who
died fighting us?...The Allies from the West entered and the Russians from the East entered...
Did they feel sadness for what was happening as they finally won the battle?..The Russians from
the East lost 26 million of their people as they met the Western Team lead by the U.S., Britain and
the rest of the nations who dealt with the mean, ruthless, soulless German leader and those
that followed him...That team from the West it is estimated lost 3 to 4 million of their people, perhaps more.
...Getting back to the present. Should there empathy for the meanest, most vicious leader that the U.S.
has seen in the last 100 years? A leader who bragged that it would be over .."by April" with only a
few deaths due to the virus. A leader who enjoyed mocking people of all kinds. A leader who
NEVER SAID HE WAS SORRY FOR MISTAKES HE MADE THAT HURT OR KILLED PEOPLE.
And last, a leader who was sure he could get away with anything without consequences.

...Is empathy due to someone like this? Think about that. My empathy is for the people and families
that were hurt beyond reason, with death and total destruction. I have no empathy for the
person who caused it all.

If I be judged by my maker so be it, as they will be theirs. The good most of us have done far out weighs their evil deeds..and make no mistake, what they do is evil

Adding everything else he's done to wreck this country and its people.

Nope, don't feel a bit sorry for him. Its better than he deserves. Screw the--love your enemies, and turn the other cheek, bullshit. Certainly no prayers for his recovery--I'm an atheist.

As far as I'm concerned, he's a mass murderer, a sadistic, serial abuser without conscience or any redeeming value.

I'm also sure that empathy coexisted with gratitude for every blow that weakened the enemy forces.

Likewise, I empathize with the suffering of anyone, including Trump & other RW bastards, while also feeling that those who downplayed this pandemic, or ridiculed or impeded efforts to eradicate it deserve to get COVID and suffer from it.

I'm hopeful that it will weaken those enemy forces and that, just maybe, it will teach them something that will.make them better people.

I wish we lived in a world without belligerently ignorant troublemakers, whether greedy capitalists, hateful racists, violent misogynists, clueless science deniers, etc. But somehow our world produces such people, and my heart aches for everyone in such a tragic world. Certainly more for the victims, but also for the perpetrators.

Damn, sorry. Did somebody slip some edibles into my cookie jar? Guess I'd better put the phone down & get some much needed sleep. Gotta get up at the ungodly hour of 5am to drive 3 hours to my mom's sister's funeral. I hate you, 2020.

One more thought...

Has Donald Trump ever showed empathy for those that died from this
virus epidemic?

.... I don't recall him showing ....."Any at all" and "That is all"
