So my father, the republican living on social security and medicare.

Told me yesterday he has Macular degeneration.

He asked me to look into treatments for him.

In my search it turns out the only treatment for the type he has is a clinical trial that is going on that involves stem cells.

All I could think while telling him about it was, If your pals hadn't stopped funding for stem cell research this might be a viable treatment already.

Of course he wants me to find more info about the trial and how one gets in it.

Things like this just make me want to scream.

My understand from my searches so far was that the injections were for the wet type only. I will keep looking though thank you for the info.

They never proposed a solution. Fortunately my wife shows no signs of it. I hope the stem cell treatment proves to be viable.
