(23,457 posts)(they take $$ off the top), but by next month, I will have donated $1,000 to Biden.
In January, I budgeted $3,000 to campaign contribution (forgoing some groceries and other non-essentials) for the year. Before Election Day, I'll hit $5,000. Mostly to Senate campaigns. I've never given more than $1,000 in an election before. That's how badly I want these rat-fucking basturds out.

How ActBlue Works
We want as many groups as possible to be able to create strong grassroots fundraising programs. Our platform is available to Democratic candidates and committees, progressive organizations, and nonprofits that share our values for no cost besides a 3.95% processing fee on donations. And we operate as a conduit, which means donations made through ActBlue to a campaign or organization are considered individual donations. You can read more about our structure here.
We take care of building fundraising tools and technology so the groups using our platform can focus on engaging and communicating with their supporters we don't fundraise, donate, or send texts or emails on behalf of any group. And as a nonprofit ourselves, were funded by our own amazing small-dollar donors!

(15,696 posts)ActBlue is a non-profit PAC. They aren't allowed to take any part of your donation, and the tip is optional.
As a nonprofit, we use tips from donors to pay our bills. You can add an optional tip for us on the contribution form when you enter your credit card information.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
