(22,183 posts)prevent the spread of CV and risk infecting other patients in the hospital. My big sister had to get special permission to see my little sister from the hospital after her surgery this a.m. (physically visit her). This was located right next to the KS border, in MO, so I don't know where the f**king she's from in KS but she certainly didn't just walk through a hospital.
She's a liar and didn't just walk through a hospital...

(9,090 posts)I'm wondering if she was checked-in and then removed her mask.
I hope your sister is doing okay!

(5,131 posts)for non covid patients. Everyone must wear a mask and present ID for entrance.
When I got to the floor, my mask fell on the floor , the strap was loose. I stayed a good distance from my friend, I didnt feel comfortable putting the mask back on after it fell on the floor. The nurse gave me one before I left though.
My guess is she entered with one and then removed it.

(22,183 posts)good. At least the oper. didn't take the full 3 hours they originally anticipated, so I'm hoping that when they did the surgery, it wasn't as bad as they first anticipated.
Take care!

She's a liar and a jerk.

(13,874 posts)He had a serious heart issue, and he was in a negative pressure room until they got several negative Covid tests back on him.
He said the nurses were dressed like Big Bird, covered in large yellow protective gear from head to foot. He asked why they didn't have him wearing a mask, and they told him none of his germs could get out of the room.
Her whole walk through is based on her ignorance of how thing work, which is not surprising.

(13,874 posts)Turned out it was severe A-fib, which is usually easy to control with meds.
The room had double door airlock. Nurse would come in one, close it and transfer all air out before opening the inner door.

That this obnoxious little girl was able to stroll through and film the way she did does not look good for Overland Park hospital or whatever it was. I can picture the PR team scrambling now...

(8,090 posts)Where I work EVERYONE is expected to wear a mask and not film and if they don't comply, they'd be speaking to campus police. This clueless little girl needs to understand that there are separate COVID units. And fuck her and her snotty "crying nurse or two" comment. The lack of respect is astonishing to me.

(25,919 posts)Although I happen to know that hospital, and it's a pretty good one. But that no one seems to have said anything to her strikes me as appalling.
The two hospitals in my city of Santa Fe are incredibly restrictive about who can visit, and the need for masks.
And at the risk of repeating myself, I cannot believe no one confronted her and had her removed immediately.

(25,919 posts)Hospitals have for far too long depended on volunteers to do things they should have paid staff doing.
I worked the information desk at my local hospital for three years. At the time it was the only hospital in this city. Volunteers were on the desk from 8am to 4pm when I started, and I worked to 8pm. All too often, in the brief overlap I had with volunteers, they'd give out bad information. Made me crazy. I once told the CEO of the hospital that volunteers should not be working an information desk.
And back in the middle of March that hospital did let all of the volunteers go, and a good friend of mine who volunteered at the gift shop for about 15 years, thinks that they never be called back. He's probably right.
The second hospital, which opened two years ago, did not have volunteers at all. Good thing, in my opinion.

(3,334 posts)First you are checked in outside. They take your temperature and ask the usual questions. You don't get in without a mask. No visitors allowed. The same goes for every doctor I go to.

(63,221 posts)How dare she put other people's lives in danger in a hospital just to draw attention to herself for social media. Her self-absorbed arrogance just astonishes me. I am surprised she didn't get kicked out on her ass.
