Eric Trump Takes The Fifth As New York AG Tightens Criminal Noose
Eric Trump, the presidents son, is taking the Fifth Amendment and refusing to be interviewed by the New York State Attorney General.
The Washington Post reported:
The filing asks a New York state judge to compel the Trump Organization to provide information it has been withholding from investigators including a subpoena seeking an interview with the presidents son Eric.
.
The filing said that Eric Trump had been scheduled to be interviewed in the investigation in late July, but abruptly canceled that interview. The filing says that Eric Trump is now refusing to be interviewed, with Eric Trumps lawyers saying we cannot allow the requested interview to go forward pursuant to those rights afforded to every individual under the Constitution.
Eric Trump is an official in the Trump Organization. The most recent filing from the New York State Attorney General, which is a different investigation from the one being conducted by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is proof that there is a very real possibility that Trump and his kids could soon be facing criminal charges for bank fraud.
Trump lost multiple court decisions last week in his bid to keep his tax returns out of the hands of prosecutors. The walls are closing in on the Trump family, as what appears to be a business built on decades of fraud could land multiple members of the Trump family in prison.

(14,262 posts)If I was standing in the same room as him I don't think I could recognize him. I have heard the name,... but I am really not sure who he is,... or what he does for a living.
I don't mean him any harm,... but if he got run over by a bus I don't think I would care one way or the other.
I wish him well, but he better not light my ass on fire,... if he knows what is good for him.

(63,221 posts)The thing is, he probably won't even do it on purpose. He will just end up telling such blatant, ridiculous lies and getting himself caught in an obvious perjury trap, and that's how they will bust him and expose the involvement of the others.

(260 posts)The IRS is hopelessly outgunned in the fights against the whales. They do not have nearly enough lawyers to go toe to toe against the high tax cheats who have a whole army to attorneys at their disposal. This is not new nor is it limited to Trump. The Republicans have been systematically under funding the IRS for years.
