I realize the magots can't believe facts, but there still are a few Republicans who can manage to hear and process the truth.

...the pledge as originally written by socialist minister Francis Bellamy, who firmly believed in the separation of church and state? Not many, I’ll wager. Added in 1954.

That would be a good “person on the street question.
