KANYE West has apparently admitted to running a spoiler campaign to take away votes from Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.[/b]
In an interview with Forbes via text message, the rapper claimed he wasn't running for president but "walking", which he quickly followed up by saying he was "walking...to win."
West rebuffed attempts to name the force behind his ballot access or strategy and whether he was receiving help for the 2020 presidential election from Republican officials.
Although the rapper was hesitant to criticized President Donald Trump, he quickly pounced on Biden and expressed comfort with the idea of hurting the former vice president's chances of sitting in the Oval Office.
"I'm not denying it; I just told you," said West.
When it was pointed out that he won't be on enough ballots to win 270 electoral votes or win the election through write-ins is impossible, thus making his campaign a spoiler, he replied: "I'm not going to argue with you. Jesus is King."

It's tragic that apparently nobody in his circle cares enough about him to shut him down and insist he gets the help he so desperately needs.

(14,160 posts)... so the plan is to cheat, having Kanye step into the mix and steal the Black vote from Biden as a spoiler candidate.
Black folks are not so dumb as to trashing their vote by giving it to a nincompoop like kanye who can never win a national election and giving trDump a guaranteed second term.

(2,504 posts)He's an arrogant a-hole like his buddy trump and thinks he knows everything. Some Du'er here said it best. Boycott him and his extended family the Kardashians. He may not care but they will when it hits their pocketbooks.

(737 posts)A percentage of black voters (motivated by Nick Cannon, P. Diddy, etc...) plan to "hold out" their vote. Kanye at best may get those votes. I don't believe he's going to get the votes of too many independents. (How many independents will vote for someone with "mental issues"? Especially after this Administration!) Nevertheless, it's the reason we need to turn out in larger numbers more than ever in November...

(58,785 posts)West should siphon a few conservative and LW dissident votes that would have gone to Trump, in addition, as you say, to some of the "hold out" votes.
Turns out there are also a couple third-party candidates who want us to know there's no difference between Trump and Biden; they were polling at 1 and 2% in July, but those are still votes they could lose to West as a seemingly "sic" alternative.

(338 posts)The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel noted that Lane Ruhland, an attorney for President Donald Trump. has been assisting West's campaign in Wisconsin. But not very well, as it appears Ruhland failed to get West's nomination papers filed in time. Given a state election commission deadlocked between an equal number of Republicans and Democrats, it's possible West could still appear on the ballot. Rules are just for little people.
