Josh Hammer, Newsweek Opinion Editor, is incredibly right wing

I think this needs to be born in mind for any opinion piece from Newsweek. It came up because someone highlighted this bullshit:

"Every so often, it is important to be reminded what an aggrieved and divisive figure Barack Obama is. He is everything that he campaigned against in 2008."

So I wondered who Josh "dumb as a box of" Hammer is. The answer is:

"Opinion editor
@Newsweek
, syndicated columnist, of counsel
@1stLiberty
, speaker
@YAF
/
@FedSoc
, alum CA5/
@ClaremontInst
, team
@AmerCompass
."
So that's a series of right wing thinktanks ("First Liberty Institute" is anti-LGBT), and Newsweek. And his twitter page reads like a desperate Republican candidate - retweeting Sebastian Gorka, Newt Gingrich and Ted Cruz, and supporting Nick Cannon, for fuck's sake!

As for our priorities, they are clear. We must confront the great threats of our time: unsustainable immigration levels and rapid demographic change; cratering fertility rates and collapsing families; the corrosive acids of neoliberalism and identity politics (in all their manifestations, from tech censorship to racial preferences); pathological white guilt; a political system largely unmoored from the consent of the governed; fiscal irresponsibility; and the emasculation of men through feminized education and various forms of soma that sap spiritedness (in particular pornography).

It’s one part - damn he makes Trump look like......well Trump

And one part - uppity. Trust me on that one. It still registers on the antenna planted in my head as a kid.

I like to think younger people know better. Sadly, that’s not always the case.

News is new, not a week old. The shit is old before it is read. So who cares what a guy like him thinks. Nobody decent will hire the guy..

But for Trump supporters (someone like my cousin) this is absolute truth. In fact, my husband pulled up one of my cousin's facebook entries lamenting the "why." Why do so many people love Barack Obama, a man who hates America while loathing Donald Trump, a man who demonstrates his love of country on a daily basis.

Huh?

We're dealing with people living and seeing a different reality, a Koolaid existence where Donald Trump is a hero of all things American (white), and Barack Obama & associates are the socialist villains (black).

There's no mystery as to why a David Duke came out and endorsed Donald Trump for 2020. Or why so many Trumpers yearn to return to the 1950s, an era of blissful ignorance about racism, sexism and a whole host of social and political issues. They want to go back in time. We demand to go forward.

There's no turning these people. They will willingly walk off a cliff for Trump and their twisted, time warp view of the country.
