President Trump on Friday night said he intends to “ban” the Chinese-owned video-sharing app TikTok from operating in the U.S.

“As far as TikTok is concerned, we’re banning them from the United States,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.

The president said he planned to take action against the social media platform as soon as Saturday, according to a pool report of his remarks.

No big loss, but there is the question of whether he has the authority.

Also, the USA isn't China so VPNs aren't illegal. So any such ban is not enforceable.

I’m just saying. People, even older people, like the tik tok. It’s fun with the dancing and stuff.
We are a bit conditioned to accept that our inform is just out there anyway so a lot of people aren’t going to get that it’s a big deal.
