Use leftover PPP money to reconfigure schools?

?s=21

The American Federation of Teachers estimates it will cost $116.5bn to reconfigure schools
-The Federal Govt has alloted $13.5bn
We’re short $100bn
There is $130bn left untapped in #PPP
Since we didn’t mind gifting that $ to completely undeserving businesses-how about our kids?

Obviously, we can’t build thousands of new school spaces before September (or August, as the case may be).

I guess I need to know what is being proposed. I’m happy to use the money for schools, but I can’t envision what it would be used for in order to reconfigure schools for safety. Ventilation systems might be a possibility.

Socially distanced classrooms, probably entailing staggered attendance (M, W, F and T, Th), required masks, enhanced cleaning and ventilation.

I thought you were suggesting physically reconfiguring buildings, which is not an option. Classroom space is already scarce in most districts.

That kind of added up.

I’m out of my depth here — more food for thought I guess.
