Does not mean 40 million people tested.
There are many many duplicate tests.
The WH has probably gobbled up thousands
People need to be tested multiple times to be cleared of virus
I wish someone would push back on this.

Right now there's capacity but no throughput

(90,379 posts)... matter if 1 or 2 days have passed cause people stay mobile.
People aren't getting tested and staying in their basement for a week

(32,269 posts)How difficult it is STILL to get tested in many areas.
Long wait in line ..... long waits for results .... waiting 2 weeks for an appointment to even get a test .... if they are even available or if you qualify .....inconsistent and ridiculous charges to pay for the test .... and we have known about this virus for how many months now ..... ?? So much incompetence, its absurd.
Dumpy and his enablers make it sound like you can walk into any pharmacy and get a free test right on the spot!!!

(1,789 posts)Trust me, it is only reassuring for a fleeting moment. Then you need food, go to the store, and start the Russian Roulette game all over again. When you receive the good news of a negative test, you just want to freeze time and stand there like the end of a 70's sitcom.

(22,919 posts)Any test that came back negative in May is meaningless in July. Where has that person gone since then, who has s/he been exposed to recently? How many live church services, indoor restaurants, political rallies, house parties, reopened work places, bus rides, elevators, post office lobbies, and crowded beaches etc. have they passed through since their last test?

(11,677 posts)Testing alone isnt enough. Useful data yes and many people who test positive may be doing their own contact tracing and notifying them of the need to self quarantine. But with the number of positives setting records almost every day and the high percentages of positive tests show that the virus is way ahead in this race.
