(89,264 posts)Most people already think he is a joke when it comes to politics because of his support for Trump.

(9,966 posts)... he's promoting himself. Many of these people are only in it for the money. Ann Coulter occasionally makes noise, still... they crave attention and will say anything to get noticed... and, of course, they hope the Attention leads to Money.

(9,263 posts)this is way less of an issue even with RNC and Putin money coming in to help

(3,697 posts)These can range from 5000 to 100,000+. He'd only be a danger in the Swing states where the race is expected to be close. Some deadlines have passed and others have July Deadlines. Unless he and the Trump campaign has already started collecting signatures (which I doubt) he won't be able to get on several Swing state ballots.

(13,551 posts)heard he hasnt filed paperwork to run for president. I think he would take votes from trump since hes a fan of him, not the Democrats. This is some kind of stunt to get attention I believe.

(5,042 posts)I'm sure when they tell him he can't be on the ballot because he did no work he'll scream racism and his even dumber wife will cry about it. Fuck both of them.

(26,137 posts)She is very, very smart and very savvy, and apparently is a Democrat. Which makes this all worse.

(5,127 posts)Kanye may have a lot of music fans. But he will not have a lot of fans that want him to be president. There is a difference.

(58,785 posts)are variations on those who soak up Bill Maher's, or Trump's, offerings as wisdom. West's conflicted and resentful, someone who could spouting high-sound rhetoric that passes for profundity and not so secretly long to be able to just come out for Trump against Democrats.

(58,785 posts)against Democrats, aside from not voting at all or going full-spite for Republicans. And he'll pick up a few votes from those who decide his name sounds coolest on the list in the polling booth.
Some of those will always be with us. But this isn't the election for their numbers to grow. Quite the contrary.

(145,554 posts)Ballot access is an interesting area of the law. It is not easy to get onto the ballot in the real world. There is actually a treatise on ballot access law. Here is a link to a blog on this topic https://ballot-access.org/ The major political parties are in effect grandfathered and so have until mid September to name their nominees (this is due to mailing deadline for overseas ballots). Third parties have to either received a specified percentage of the vote in the last election or get on the ballot by signatures. This takes a great deal of work and a ton of signatures. For example, the Green Party may not be on the ballot in a number of states due to the difficulty of getting signatures in today's COVID environment

West will not be on the ballot in most states. I would be surprised if he is on the ballot in any state

(8,929 posts)If democrats are truly concerned Kayne West could take votes from Biden, they could pay someone to run and take an equivalent number of votes from Trump. I'm sure there are plenty enough gun humpers frustrated enough with Trump and stupid enough to vote for a 3rd party candidate. Someone like "Chuck Norris" or something like that.

(101,361 posts)May 2018; overall 23% had a favorable opinion of him, 53% unfavorable. Among those who approved of Trump, that was 40% approve, 34% disapprove; among those who disapproved of Trump, it was 9% favorable, 70% unfavorable.
