In the end progressive will win out

You know what the protests over the last few weeks tell me? That in the last dying gasps of white power, as they have tried to wind back to the days of white supremacist worst excesses and as they have rolled back protections to the extent that the murder of black men is generally barely acknowledged in the conservative white community - eventually progress will win out. There is a reason why in 2020 the BLM movement is supported by such a diversity of communities in Generation Z. That is progress and however much the nasty racist wankers in charge try to stop this progress they will not win, even as right now they are fighting viciously to retain the status quo. Apart from anything they are going to die off as this generation start to take control of the levers of power. Yep. Progressive will win out.

than I've been for some three years. It's not a sure thing but it looks like Trump will soon be history and he'll take his racist goons down with him. We will have a lot of repair work to do and it will take a long time to put things right, but I now have hope that it can be done.

Looking at how the younger generation is coming together in this moment is awe inspiring. Unfortunately on this side of the pond we do not get to kick out Trump lite for another 4 1/2 years.

I was telling my therapist that I am suddenly more hopeful. I have the luxury of being in a safe place with pleasant shelter and surroundings during this time but like everything these days, it is subject to collapse should the government fail. To the point, I am most hopeful that what I have anticipated for a couple years is now taking place. Because of the virus and everyone being forced to isolate they have also been thinking about life and why things suck. This has sparked the flame which has brought us to this moment of national defiance toward the current administration and those who enable it.

For years I have seen this coming, I just couldn't tell what would be the breaking point and catalyst. I was anticipating a general strike and massive marching in the streets. The pandemic has facilitated the ability of everyone to stop the rat race and take the time to look around them what they have seen is what brought everyone to the streets. It's about time and it shows everyone exactly who the enemy of the state is.

Back in March I realized that the pandemic would bring on a punctuated equilibrium* event on the cultural/psychological/philosophical levels... this is global, our entire species is experiencing both situations simultaneously and it is changing every culture in one way or another, some immediately, some further on in time.

I am hopeful, now, that change for the better which will motivate our species to rally for our own survival as we oust governments who are set on ignoring environmental dangers that will cause mass extinction including us. Once they are removed, we have cultural, pandemic and environmental issues facing us immediately. It's a lot but if e all do something about it, we might have a chance at survival.
