Dumpus responds to SCOTUS LGBT ruling (clearly no one was willing to tell him what it really means)

Daniel Dale ✔ @ddale8 (CNN)

Trump on the LGBT ruling: "They've ruled. I've read the decision. And some people were surprised. But they've ruled and we live with their decision. That's what it's all about. We live with the decision of the Supreme Court. Very powerful. A very powerful decision, actually."

Trump claims he read the decision?! I'd find that doubtful under ordinary circumstances. The opinion in Bostock is 172 pages long.

He has a vocabulary of about 100 words and half of them are macho adjectives.

(which, of course, he can't) indicates that he has no idea what the decision meant (and we know for sure he didn't read it himself).

like me, understand that this means a decision has been decided. When a decision has been decided, the decision is done. Some say maybe the most decisive way of deciding decisions."

He probably doesn't grasp that it could depress his voter turnout, especially among evangelicals and other homophobes, since one of his own judges was on the "wrong" side.

Edited to add Exhibit A, from Twitter.

I am sick. The number one reason I voted for Trump was to prevent a left wing loon from being appoint to #SCOTUS. Now Trump's pick is making up laws giving transgendereds new rights? Trump and GorSUCK have betrayed conservatives.

I don't think gay or transgendered people bother him at all, or I should probably say they just don't register with him. He is from New York and would be used to all kinds of people.

Of course his fundy base will lose their collective shit over this, then he will come out strongly against this.

A bit too reasonable. Although the "I read the decision" is consistent with a lie he would tell.
