https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-52877801"Mark Zuckerberg is setting a "dangerous precedent" by allowing a post by Donald Trump to remain on Facebook, a group of civil rights leaders has warned.
Their statement followed a video call with the social media giant's founder.
The US president's post, about the widespread protests following the death of George Floyd, was hidden by Twitter last week for "glorifying violence".
Facebook staff also voiced their anger at their employer, with some staging a "virtual walkout".
In the post, the president wrote he would "send in the National Guard", and warned that "when the looting starts, the shooting starts".
Mr Trump shared the same message on Twitter, where it was hidden behind a warning label, prompting an escalating row between Twitter and the White House."
And this
"Online therapy firm TalkSpace has pulled out of talks about a partnership deal with the social media giant over its decision to leave the post up."

(10,588 posts)I am over my companies account. I rarely use it for anything but work, however, I think its a mistake to act as if the platform is full of "Hundreds of millions of clueless people and racists". As county, party and a people that attitude gets us nowhere. There are also millions of caring and non-racist people on the platform, in fact they by far outweigh the bad apples.

(4,477 posts)is being bought and sold. And people are OK With that. The platform was used to organize genocide in Burma, and is being used now by racists, fascists, and anri-vaxxers To destroy society. Its like the Catholic Church, as long as people keep filling the pews, the child sexual abuse will continue.
Oh, and FB has helped pedophiles too.
Now in no way am I insinuating that everyone who uses FB fits those categories. But as long as the people using it keep using it despite that reality, those people have a home.
