I hope all yaw'll can see this one. It show a black lady New York protester catching two white girls in the act of defacing a Starbucks with spry paint. Her response to those girls, trying to address and stop them is powerful......

(54,044 posts)That young woman should NOT have to confront "supporters" to not distract from the message. I am glad she took the video and I hope it goes viral along with others just like it. As I scrolled down, I saw other photos and vids showing similar actions taken by white people. I hope someone is collecting these and sends them to someone in the media who might actually show them, like Maddow.

(14,498 posts)educate all their good guys on how to best observe and report these law breakers to authorities and follow-up as witnesses for prosecution. Get closeup and distant photos and record their voices if possible.
They need a clearcut, simple method for turning over their evidence to investigators.

(25,757 posts)The white agitators dressed in black with backpacks in this footage, as in most of the footage I've seen so far, are slim and fit. But when you see white supremacists and MAGA idiots protesting, they look like they spend a lot of time snacking on the sofa.
My theory: at least some of these people are the children of Russian immigrants, doing part-time jobs. Given SUVs and instructions. Pays well.
No good?

(14,498 posts)I think at least, they are kids of the wealthy (maybe college Republicans). Your normal everyday protester does not wear black form-fitted body suits with backpacks equipped with destructive tools like hammers.
They also behave very cool, meticulous and determined as if they're following a fascist playbook and have rehearsed.
Our people need to photograph them, talk to them (to record their voices) and try to stop them if possible without fighting. I worry that some of these troublemakers could be armed.
So far, I've seen video clips from Minneapolis, New York and Nashville of white people in similar dress and of similar demeanor.

Yes, this is extremely suspicious, because how can they have rehearsed? Are there classes?

There are some media investigations that have been done recently on secretive far right Facebook groups:

The Tech Transparency Project (TTP), a research group focused on exposing large platforms misconduct and influence, released a report finding that 125 Facebook groups are promoting the boogaloo, a term far-right groups use to refer to a wishful Civil War sequel. The boogaloo appears to have mutated from a joking 4chan meme into a real-life movement of militiamen (Boojihadeens) late last year. But the TTP found a surge in boogaloo interest over the past few months, correlating with social distancing measures. According to the report, over 60 percent of the Facebook groups cropped up in the past three months and, as a whole, have attracted over 36,000 members in the last 30 days.

In total, these Facebook groups boast 72,686 members, although the report did not verify how many members overlap between groups. One merch page, the Thicc Boog Line, admins at least 11 other boogaloo groups.
The vast majority are private, TTP notes. One post screenshot grabbed by TTP crowdsources tips on homemade explosives.

Officials see extremist groups, disinformation in protests

She also has been poring over images from the weekend protests and spotted some boogaloo bois in the crowds, carrying high-powered rifles and wearing tactical gear.
I think mostly they dont want to hurt these protests. They want to co-opt them in order to start their war. They see themselves as being on the side of protesters and that the protesters themselves are useful in causing anarchy, MacNab said. She also sees signs that the Three Percenters militia movement appears to be taking an interest.

Now. Good chance Russia is using that w their internet workshops. But, abdolutely believe there would be a BIG pool of white American 30-35ish males who would do this.
